It’s been a while since Piaggio dropped belts for the early Quasar engines, but we’ve traced the original supplier and they’re now back in stock!
There’s little doubt that the early Quasar engines were great workhorses. That’s why they enjoyed such a long life powering scooters such as the GTS 250, GTS 300, GT 250, EVO 250, MP3 250, MP3 300, X7, X8, X9 250, NEXUS 250 and NEXUS 300.
Unfortunately, and despite there being plenty of those engines still out and about earning their keep, Piaggio dropped them from their catalogue some time ago. Although Polini has produced an aramid belt, the lack of a standard belt has driven owners into uncharted waters. We’re aware of one unbranded item that only delivered around 1,500 miles before shredding at the most inconvenient moment, a completely unacceptable situation.
We’re now proud to announce that having used our network of international contacts we’ve traced the original supply of Piaggio belts back to the Japanese manufacturer, Mitsuboshi. We asked if they could fire up their tooling and they said yes, so we can now offer early Quasar belts as a direct replacement or as a service kit complete with rollers and sliders. So, don't hesitate. Ditch that worn or unknown brand belt before it lets you down.
